Your First Personal Training Session at Sweat Equity Fitness Atlanta: What to Expect
You booked your first session at Sweat Equity Fitness in Old Fourth Ward. Good. The hardest part of getting in shape is deciding to start, and you just did it.
Atlanta is where Sweat Equity Fitness started, training clients in local parks back in 2013. Today our private studio sits in Old Fourth Ward, close to Inman Park, Grant Park, Freedom Park, Midtown and Downtown. This guide covers what to bring, where to park, what happens in your first session, and what training costs, so you walk in feeling like you've been here before.
What to bring
Comfortable workout clothes and shoes you can move in. That's it. We take care of the rest.
Where to go and where to park
Address: 10 Jackson St SE, at the intersection of Jackson St and Edgewood Ave in Old Fourth Ward.
Parking: Street parking is in front of the gym on Jackson St and behind it on Chamberlain St. If the street is full, there's one parking space behind the gym on Chamberlain. On your first visit, text us when you're a couple of minutes out and we'll meet you at your car.
Can't find us? Call (404) 480-0432 and we'll help you in.
What happens in your first session
Your coach spends the first session getting to know you: your goals, your training history, any injuries, and what's gotten in the way before. From there, they start building a plan around you. No cookie-cutter workouts.
Before you come in, tell us anything your coach should know: an injury, a condition, or the goal you're most excited about. Just reply to your confirmation email.
What personal training costs in Atlanta
We publish our prices because you deserve to know before you commit. Here's what a session costs at our Atlanta studio.
Why we start at two sessions a week
We don't offer once-a-week training. One session a week isn't enough to build strength or change your body, and people who try it usually end up frustrated. Two sessions a week is the minimum we've seen work, which is why our programs run two or four months. Consistency wins.
Who this is not right for
Private 1-on-1 training is an investment. It's not the right fit if you want the cheapest option, only want to train once a week, or aren't ready to commit to a few months. If that's you, a big-box gym membership is a better place to start, and we'll tell you so honestly.
Quick answers
Why is there a $20 deposit?
It holds your coach's time. Show up and it's refunded or credited toward your program.
What if I need to reschedule?
Give us at least 12 hours' notice and there's no charge.
Can I train with more than one coach?
Yes. Work with one coach or a team. Every program is built and monitored by our coaching team.
