How Long Does Personal Training Take to Work? (And What It Costs)
The short answer
How long does personal training take to see results? Most people start to feel a difference in a few weeks. Changes you can see and measure take two to four months of consistent training. Big transformations take longer.
How fast you get there depends on three things: how often you train, how you eat and how well you sleep. One month, or 8 sessions, is barely enough time to learn how you move. That's why we only offer 2- and 4-month personal training packages.
A longer program is a two-way commitment. We commit to building a plan around you and keeping you consistent. We ask you to commit to showing up. That's how our clients get results that last.

Why one month isn't enough
Most people who buy a handful of sessions stop right before the good part. Here's why a short package rarely works:
The first weeks are about learning. Your trainer is figuring out how you move, what your body can handle and where to start. Real progress comes after that.
Results take time to show. Getting stronger, losing fat and moving better build week by week. A month is usually too short to see a real difference in the mirror or on the scale.
Habits take time to stick. Showing up twice a week has to become part of your routine. A month is rarely long enough for that, so it's easy to slip back into old patterns.
As our homepage says, most people don't have a fitness problem. They have a consistency problem. A longer program is how we solve it.
What to expect: weeks 4, 8 and 16
Week 4: Workouts feel easier, you move with better form, and training starts to feel like a habit.
Week 8: You're lifting more, your energy is up, and clothes start to fit differently.
Week 16: Changes others can see, real strength gains, and a routine you no longer have to think about.
Real results take real time
Sara D. walked into our Miami studio in June 2025 having never worked out before. Thirteen months later, she was 136 pounds lighter, going from 301 lb to 165 lb and from 55% to 23% body fat.
"I started in June 2025 having never worked out before, and I was honestly really nervous to even begin." — Sara D., Google review
Sara's result isn't typical, and it took more than a year. She didn't get there in a month. She got there by showing up week after week.
What you get with a 2- or 4-month program
Enough time to reach your goals. Two to four months gives you room to see real, measurable change, not just a good first week.
A program built only for you. Your trainer has time to learn your body, schedule and goals, then design a plan around them.
Progressive overload. Your workouts get harder at the right pace, so you keep getting stronger instead of hitting a plateau.
Adjustments along the way. When something is working, we build on it. When it isn't, your trainer has time to change course.
A trainer who is invested in you. We're committing to your results, so you get a coach who wants to see you succeed, not someone counting reps.
A whole coaching team. Stay with one trainer or work with several. Your program is built and monitored by our certified coaches, so your progress doesn't stall when a schedule changes.
Flexible billing. Pay weekly, monthly or in full, so the commitment fits your budget.
What does it cost?
Here's the full commitment, up front. Training twice a week, a 2-month program is about 16 sessions, or about $1,440 total. A 4-month program is about 32 sessions, or about $2,720 total. That total is owed even if you stop early, so pick the length you can commit to.
Monthly estimates assume about 8 sessions a month at 2x a week and about 12 at 3x a week. Short on time? 30-minute sessions are also available, from $50 to $60 per session. Training with a partner saves each of you $10 per 60-minute session or $5 per 30-minute session.
Pay weekly, monthly or in full. There's no gym membership on top. See our full pricing here.

Who our programs are not right for
We'd rather be honest than sign up someone who won't be happy. A 2- or 4-month program probably isn't for you if:
You only want a session or two to freshen up the routine you already do on your own.
You're on a minimal fitness budget. Private 1-on-1 coaching is an investment, and a monthly commitment may not fit right now.
You're looking for the cheapest option. A gym membership or group classes will cost less.
You can't commit the time right now. If your schedule won't allow at least one or two sessions a week, it's better to wait until it does.
If that's you, no hard feelings. We'd still love to help when the timing is right.
Comparing your options? Training with a trainer at a big-box gym usually means paying membership dues on top of your sessions. Online coaching costs less, but there's no one in the room to correct your form. If either fits your budget and goals better, that's a fine choice. Here's our honest comparison of private training vs. big-box gym training.
2 months or 4 months: which should you choose?
Choose 2 months if you're new to training, want to try a program before a longer commitment, or have a specific short-term goal like an event.
Choose 4 months if you want the best value per session, have a bigger goal like major weight loss or building strength, or know you do better with a longer runway.
Not sure? Your coach will help you decide at your intro session, based on your goals and schedule.
What if life happens? Questions to ask before you sign up
What if I travel or need a break? Your weekly or monthly payments keep going while you're away, but the sessions you miss roll over. Because the 6-month expiration counts from your last payment, you'll have plenty of time to use them when you're back.
How do I pay? You can pay weekly, monthly, or in full and use your sessions on your own schedule.
What if I want to stop early? Our programs are a commitment for the full 2 or 4 months. If you pay weekly or monthly and stop early, you still owe the rest of the program. We'd rather tell you that now than surprise you later. If you're not sure you're ready, start with the 2-month program.
Can I cancel or get a refund? We don't offer refunds. If a serious illness means your doctor says you can't exercise for a long period of time, you can cancel your program with a valid doctor's note. Your weekly or monthly payments stop, and you'll still have up to 6 months to use your remaining sessions.
Do unused sessions expire? If you pay weekly or monthly, your sessions expire 6 months after your last payment. If you pay in full, the 6 months start when your 2- or 4-month program ends.
What if I need to reschedule? Give us at least 12 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 12 hours' notice count as a used session, because your coach has held that time for you.
Two real-life examples
A month of travel. Jordan is on a 4-month program, training twice a week and paying monthly. She travels for 4 weeks and misses 8 sessions. Her monthly payments continue, and those 8 sessions roll over. Because her sessions expire 6 months after her last payment, she has plenty of time to use them when she's back.
A late cancellation. Marcus has a 7:00 a.m. session. If he cancels by 7:00 p.m. the night before, he keeps the session. If he cancels at 9:00 p.m., with only 10 hours' notice, that session counts as used.
Will I always have the same trainer? That's your choice. You can stay with one trainer, or work with a team of trainers. Either way, your program is built and monitored by our whole coaching team. If you train with more than one coach, the switch is seamless, because everyone follows the same plan built for you.
What if I don't see results? Your coach tracks your progress and adjusts your program along the way. If something isn't working, we change it. Results also depend on how consistently you train, how you eat and how well you sleep, and your coach will talk through all three with you.
Is the intro session free? There's a $20 deposit to hold your coach's time. When you show up, it's refunded or applied as a credit to whichever program you choose.

Start with an intro session
The best way to see if a program fits is to try it. Your intro session is 60 minutes with a real coach, a movement assessment, and a clear plan for what your program would look like. There's no sales pitch, and you can leave without signing anything. A $20 deposit holds your spot, and it's refunded or credited to your program when you show up.
